The Pearson Ranch - not your typical dude ranch
September 2005 Newsletter

Highlights from 2005 horseback season:

In April we opened our new bathhouse with 3 private bathrooms complete with showers, sinks and toilets. No more waiting on others to use the “facilities.”

May was exciting at The Pearson Ranch. The star of Country Music Television's Cowboy U, Rocco Wachman, spent some down time with us. It was time for a little R&R he said. He and his stock manager, Lori Bridwell helped us with our May cattle round up. The opportunity to ride and round up cattle on the Continental Divide was something he never did until then and he added "the views and scenery were spectacular..... not to mention some unbelievable star filled nights."

All the guests and staff enjoyed some great food, big bonfires and sing-alongs that lasted well into the nights. We ended the week with an old Mexican traditional Metanza including roasted pig, sauteed vegetables, ranch beans and home made tortillas. MMMMMMM!!

June was bountiful with the birth of a new colt we named Lobo. With a little work he learned to lay in your lap and take his nap. The crop of calves was healthy and strong. We nursed a orphaned elk calf we found on one of our rides. He was all legs and beautifully spotted.

July and August became our busiest two months of Horseback Riding Vacations on record. We had visitors from Texas, South Carolina, Mississippi, Ohio, New Mexico, Arizona, North Carolina, New York, Louisiana, California, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota, Washington, ,Maine, Canada and Italy. The chance to experience all these different cultures has given The Ranch an international flare all its own.

Coming up In October is a brand new event on The Pearson Ranch. We call it Horseback Elk Bugling. One of North Americas largest wild animals, the bull elk, sings a "song" during mating season that brings the forest to life. You, along with your guide, will join this mating concert on horseback as the men of the elk world compete to gather the most ladies to build their herds. This experience will find itself among the top of your life's memories. It's unbelievable and we promise you’ve never done anything like this before!

The event is 4 days & 3 nights and includes all your meals, your room and a horse that fits your style. Check availability below:

October 1 - 4, 2005

October 8 - 11, 2005
