Hunts in the Wild
Elk Hunting in New Mexico

Elk hunting on the Pearson Ranch provides some of the best elk hunting in the world. We are in unit 15 of the Gila/Apache National Forest. We first saw elk on our ranch in 1982. Now there are more elk than cattle! This unit is and has always been a primitive weapons elk hunt unit. Thus, bull elk reach maturity and become REAL trophies.

The NM Department of Game and Fish has provided us with "landowner authorizations". What this means, is that if you book an elk hunt with the Pearson Ranch, you don’t have to worry about getting lucky enough to draw a tag. We send you an authorization, which enables you to buy the necessary license direct from the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.

You'll stay right with us in our old rustic ranch house. If you live out of state and are flying in, the nearest airport is Albuquerque International Sunport, which has car and SUV rentals on site enabling you to make the 165-mile drive to the ranch. Click here for map. All hunts require a 50% booking deposit. Balance is due when you receivie the landowner authorization. Booked hunts are non-refundable unless we can resell your booked hunt for the full booked value. If cancellation is too late to get full booked value - you will be refunded booked amount less the amount we have to discount the hunt.
Hunts are transferable.
